Matting & Mounting

At Curatorial Assistance mat cutting is an art. Both computerized and traditional hand-cut mat cutting techniques are used with a variety of museum boards to perfectly place the window to your art.

The correct mounting of your artwork not only enhances its presentation but also provides you the security of its long-term protection. Mounting your artwork is performed using archival adhesives precisely and evenly applied to a substrate of your choice. Substrate choices include pH-neutral museum board, DiBond (aluminum sheets thermobonded to a solid polyethylene core), aluminum, Sintra (a highly durable and archival PVC board), up to 79 x 160 inches (200 x 400 cm) depending on substrate size. We choose the most advanced archival adhesives to bond your art to its substrate to create a chemically-stable and long-term durable package.
